Legend has it that a French nobleman invented peg solitaire in the eighteenth century while spending time in prison.Peg solitaire is played on a board containing 33 holes. Each hole can hold a peg. The user is given an initial board layout where each hole is either occupied by a peg or vacant. The user is also given a target layout that consists of occupied and vacant holes. The object of the game is to reach the target layout from the initial layout. The rules are simple: you may move one peg at a time by jumping a single adjacent peg. You can only jump in horizontal and vertical directions. No diagonal jumps are allowed. Whenever you jump a peg, it is removed from the board.Talus is an electronic implementation of peg solitaire. Unlike most solitaire games, Talus requires more skill than luck to complete the game. There are basic moves (called block removals) that allow the player to strategically complete a puzzle. Level 1 of Talus contains five basic block removals. Players will have to be able to visualize several removals in advance in order to complete the advanced puzzles.Talus contains one hundred peg solitaire puzzles. There are twenty levels, each level contains five puzzles. You must complete at least three puzzles from any given level to advance to the next level. The puzzles range in difficulty from easy to extremely difficult. All of the puzzles can be solved. Most of the puzzles have multiple solutions.Shareware RegistrationTalus is copyrighted software that is distributed as shareware.
