Date list UtilityThese freeware applications are for those who have to synchronize their Newton calendar with  an outside calendar.   The first program, ÒDateListÓ is for extracting changes made on the Newton for addition to the calendar.   The second program, ÒUpdateCalÓ replaces the Intelligent Assistant for adding entries into the Newton Calendar.  ÒDateListÓ:ÒDateListÓ lists future calendar entries which have changed between executions.  The lists may be printed, faxed or copied to the notepad.  When the close box is pressed, ÒDateListÓ will ask to reset the date last synchronized.  An ÒOKÓ will clear these entries from future lists, while ÒCancelÓ does not reset the date therefore retaining the entries for future display.  The ÒResyncÓ button is used to reset the start date of the list as displayed in the title.  The Calendar removes entries which are deleted, and, therefore, they cannot be listed by this utility.  If deleted meetings are important, remove the description from the meeting but leave it in the calendar.  ÒDateListÓ will report these meetings, as deleted, and remove them when responding ÒOKÓ.ÒUpdateCalÓ:This application adds calendar entries to the Newton calendar.  It processes the first highlighted text found in any application.  The text must be in the format:Date    StartTime   EndTime    MeetingDescriptionDate  : any one word date description. (i.e. 12/20, 12/20/93, Mon),StartTime  : any one word time description (i.e. 13:00, 8am, 1:30PM)EndTime  : any one word time description (i.e. 13:00, 8am, 1:30PM)MeetingDescription : the rest of the text, such as ÒVery Important MeetingÓExample:   Mon 2pm 3pm Staff MeetingI use this program to process pages sent to my messaging card.  It differs from the Assistant by processing an ending time and not looking for names in the Meeting Description.  Meetings added with this utility will not be listed on ÒDateListÓ because itis assumed that they are updates from the other calendar system.How I use this application:I am required to use PROFS to make my calendar public to the rest of the organization.I have my assistant page updates to PROFS to me in ÒUpdateCalÓ format.  I then copy them to the notepad and use ÒUpdateCalÓ to add them to the calendar.  During my travels I add and change meetings in the Newton Calendar.  Once a day or so I use ÒDateListÓ to print a list of updates which my assistant adds to PROFS.
