Clipper v2.2---------------------------------------------------------------------copyright 1996-7 Stand Alone, Inc. & Ben Gottlieb* What's it do?--------------------------------------------------------------------- Clipper adds a button to the NotePad application or a small, draggablefloater that you can drag and drop text onto, and will let you paste thattext back into any document. * What's in this archive?--------------------------------------------------------------------- There are two Newton software packages and two text files inthis archive. They are: * Clipper.txt document you're now reading. 'Nuff said. * Clipper.pkg software package you'll install on your Newton. * SASReg.pkg software package you'll install on your Newton to enter the password you get when you register Clipper. * SAStuff.txt A list of all Stand Alone products.* Installing Clipper--------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, you must get the Clipper software package onto yourNewton. You can do this using the Newton Connection Utility (for Mac orWindows), the Newton Package Downloader, or the Newton BackupUtility. See the documentaion with each of these for moreinformation on installing packages with them.* Using Clipper--------------------------------------------------------------------- Clipper places a small floating button on your Newton. You can changethis to a status bar button in the NotePad. To clip text, simply drag itdown to the button, or select it (by hiliting it) and tap the button. Topaste it again, position the caret where you'd like the new text to go,tap the clipper button, and tap the text you'd like to paste. There are several additional options in the Clipper menu. These are, in order:¥ÊOpen Scrapbook This will only be available if you have Scrapbook (from Stand Alone) installed. It will open the Scrapbook application.¥ÊClipper Preferences This will open a small window in which you can choose whether you'd like to have Clipper float in front of all other applications, or be installed in the Names status bar.¥ÊEdit Items This will open a window listing all of the text items in your Scrapbook. All clippings dropped into Clipper will be stored in your Scrapbook (so you can access them with Scrapbook as well.) You can remove clippings in this screen, as well as changing their title (the text that appears in the popup menu.)¥ Paste, then Remove If this optin is checked, then items will be deleted from the Scrapbook soup when they are pasted. This is useful when you are transfering data from one part of the Newton to another.* Registering Clipper--------------------------------------------------------------------- You have a 30 day trial period in which to examine Clipper, during which it will function fully. Should you wish to register, you'll need to do one of the following: * Call us and pay using Visa or Mastercard. We can give you a password right over the phone: instant gratification! * Send us a check for $15 to the address below. * Using CompuServe, GO SWREG and register ID 4383.
